Epic naps are my jam. They REVIVE ME. I know the science says don’t nap for too long. It’s true most of the time…but when you’re exhausted far more than normal, maaaannn…an epic nap can bring you back. It did for me today. I slept for an hour and a half I think and I could feel my brain working better when I got up. Like, I wanted to get out into my office and DO things. So I did. And then storm clouds rolled in, it got windy, and we took the pups for an early walk.

It was muggy AF today. Disgustingly muggy. 97º with heaps of humidity kind of muggy. It felt like Florida. On the walk, with the wind, it felt like Hawaii. Smelled like it, too. Apparently this storm rolling through is the remnants of a big tropical one.

That makes me think about tropical storms that used to roll through Humboldt. I loved them. So much more pleasant than the cold, northern storms. Lots of wind, though, but it was a warm, sweet wind. Smelled nice. It rained a lot where I grew up. But, that’s why it was so green, you know? You take that kind of green for granted when it’s everywhere. I don’t anymore. That much green is something special. All that rain is something special.

I’ll be busy with work tomorrow. I want to get up on time, too. Get that routine going again after burning out so hard over the weekend. What a great weekend, though, truly. Fam in town. Having everyone over in our backyard for a movie night. I love it. It’s so much fun. So much work, truly, but I forget that afterwards and before. I’ve already forgotten how much work it was. Just the good memories. I love sharing my house in that way. Truly.

Night night.
