Whew. A day off. Holy crap I needed it today!
Today’s fine distinction is….
Bay vs Gulf vs Cove
A “bay” is a body of water recessed within land.
A “gulf” is a very large bay. Like…hundreds of miles.
A “cove” is a very tiny bay with a narrow inlet and sheltered by steep cliff walls. Fascinating! This last one is my favorite, especially the distinction that it needs to be sheltered by cliffs. Porco Rosso’s home was a cove, then. I love coves. They feel great.
Took a decent nap. Read two acts of The Comedy of Errors, which means all I need to read tomorrow is the last act and I can check it off my list. I liked The Comedy of Errors! It’s funny. Surprising, then, that I’ve (almost) watched two filmed versions of the play and was super disappointed in both of them. BBC and RSC. Not good. But me, sitting in my reading chair, reading the play and imagining it…I’m laughing. It could be really funny if done right, I guess? Maybe.
Night night.
