Twas a travel day today. At least for half of it. Woke up at the buhcrack and drove my ass to the airport. Long term parking was actually gonna be cheaper than taking a lyft there and back, which is kinda wild. I think it was because I had to get there so early. But it all went smoothly. Plane left pretty much on time—a rarity for Southwest in my experience these days; this is my last time flying them for quite some time, I think—landed on time.

We went straight to lunch and Liz’s favorite book store. Pizza, with a side of an older dude sitting at the next table over from us with a very young lady, giving her advice about the music industry, and giving us creepy vibes. Didn’t like it. But the pizza was really good. And the book store next door was really really cute. We went to the big book store in town after that, just because we were in the mood, and that was cool, too, though we both could help but compare it with Powell’s, which is objectively more impressive. It was still super nice, though, and I wish they had a logo on their t-shirts that I like better. It wasn’t it, though.

Took a nap. Ate some leftovers. Then we lyfted down to this place called Oyster Marina, which is right on the edge of lake Austin—they do Christmas decoration boat rides there, and we took a little boat ride through decorations they’d set up and drank hot chocolate. It was delightful! Genuinely. Decently long trip, about 45 minutes, the decorations were cool, and the houses along the lake were even cooler. It was really lovely. We had a great time. It was one of those things where you’re not sure at first if it was worth it to do, and then it ended up being great.

I’m wiped. Liz is wiped. Long week of work for both of us, with travel on top of it. But, today and tonight were a great success. Good times. I really like the hotel she’s staying in. The neighborhood is really nice, too. It’s going to be a great couple days here 🙂

Night night.
