So, One Battle After Another was pretty good. I’m in. If you read yesterday’s journal entry, I was wagging-the-hand, I-like-it-but-don’t-love-it. After finishing it…I wouldn’t say I love the movie. There Will Be Blood it is not—Leo is a fine actor, but he’s no Daniel Day—but I do love PARTS of the movie. Like, the last car chase was some goddamn Hitchcock shit and I was here for it. Sean Penn was legit brilliant, he stole the move for me. Well, I take that back, he and Chase Infiniti. God she was good. Benicio, too, was absolutely superb. So…yeah. I loved a lot in the movie. It won me over in the end. It’s a solid film. “Propulsive” is the word I’d give it. Every scene pushes the pace—sometimes into brilliance, sometimes just fine. Above average movie. Four stars out of Five and you should see it. Anderson’s still got it.

I’m wiped, though. Absolutely wiiiiiped. Got my teeth cleaned, which I almost forgot about but the calendar on my phone saved me. So, toofers clean. Got the thumbs up from the doc and hygienist, too. Everything looked good, including my pockets. The hygienist was really good, too—very thorough without being too rough with the gums. She was one of the best at that I think I’ve ever had, both really thorough and also really precise and gentle. I was bummed to hear she was a temp. I probably won’t get her again 🙁 A lot of turnover at my dentist in that regard, it would seem.

Night night.
