Joy is alllll the way up on my lap, so we’re thumbing it tonight on the old iPhone. I do mean old, by the way. It’s far past time for a new phone. This is a…12? Yeah, pretty sure it’s a 12 Pro. Which means I’ll have had it for five years once the next phone drops this fall—when I plan to finally get a new one—an eternity amongst iPhones. The longest I’ve ever gone. But…why upgrade, you know? There hasn’t been anything in the past five years that has made me feel like it was worth it. I don’t think there’s anything I’m even missing out on. This next one might change that, but this phone is dying, anyway. It will be time, for sure.
Writing was good today! I got three of my four sessions in. Not too bad. I read through my outline today, too, just because I was feeling fuzzy and floaty about it…it slaps. This is a fun story. It’s going to be very very fun to write. So, that was a relief.
Got my Shakespeare reading done. King Richard II isn’t great, but it did finally pick up in Act III for me. You can finally see why this dude is doomed. So that was fun. I’m an act behind, but that’s okay. Feeling back on track.
Same with the Netflix work. I feel less anxious about this project because I’ve finally figured out how I’m going to do all of it. Last leg tomorrow. I set myself up for success.
The only discordant note in Ira-land is that all my sports teams are suddenly struggling, lol. The Warriors lost Jimmy for the year, with extremely limited options for recourse. Wrexham has hit a rough patch, though the transfer window is still open and I suspect they’ll make at least a couple additions. And the Niners were bounced—annihilated—from the playoffs, so their season is over. Even F1 cancelled my subscription because AppleTV is taking it over, but that’s not up and running yet, nor is it clear if the library of past seasons will still be available, which was what I would dip into during the offseason like this, go watch old races. Sigh. I do love my sports.
It was a really good day, though. Whew. I’m getting there. Feeling positive.
