Up with family in the central valley of California to go to my grandmother’s memorial tomorrow. So many people here I’ve never met before. So many I’ve met, but maybe only once or twice.

Scott and I had a really nice ride up. Lots of great discussion. Scott’s really happy to be here, doing a solo trip, able to just be an adult for a while and not a dad of a three-year-old, lol. We had a good time. Not quite as early of a trip up as we’d wanted or expected, but we made it work. Jeremy is here, as is Aunt Susan. Mom and Dad. I helped Dad a little bit with the slideshow that he’s putting together. We really need to get him a new computer. Woof. His screen is busted. And it’s an ooollddd computer, too. Over ten years, I think. But, he’s getting it together. It’s going to work, thank goodness. I was able to help some people send him more photos, too.

The hotel we’re staying in is kinda wild, it’s all Danish-styled with a big windmill. I hear that it used to be a Pea Soup Anderson’s, but there’s even a TRAIN that runs along from the hotel, past the restaurant (not called…Legends? Something like that?), and down all the way along—and I kid you not—the big car dealership here. What? I’m just as lost as you. Train doesn’t run anymore, looks like. Feels very much like a place that’s being forgot. Rooms look mostly re-done, though, so that’s nice.

Time for sleep. Breakfast is early tomorrow!
