Well, we memorialized my grandmother’s life today. Grandma Patty. She was born in 1927. Ninety-eight. Pretty remarkable. There was dementia there towards the end, but Grandma was sharp pretty long. The memory of her I shared today was how she recorded reading books on cassette tapes, and I would listen to them as a kid, her reading me stories until I fell asleep. Her voice will always be very special to me because of that, one of the very first voices that soothed me and made me feel safe.

Memorial worked out really well. Everyone seemed to have a very good time. We went for a walk afterwards. Dutch Bros first. Then Scott and I did a cold plunge into the pool and the hot tub afterward. It was super cool! First time I’ve ever done a “cold plunge” before. Good lord it was freezing. And the hot tub felt so good. Dinner at an Indian place afterwards, delish, and then we sat on the beds of Scott and Jeremy’s (adjoining) room and watched the Olympics for a while.

A really great day.

Night night.
