Tonight’s fine distinction iiiisss…Goblin versus Ogre versus Troll. Fun!

A goblin is small and devilish.

An ogre is big and brutish.

A troll is weird and reclusive, the wildest of the bunch.

Going further with it, goblins traditionally hung around a person’s home, and some—most notably hobgoblins—could be downright friendly. Ogres have always been mean, and with their strong relation to giants in general, have been known to munch on people for food. Trolls come from Norse and Scandanavian folklore and vary widely in their descriptions, but, truly, the distinguishing feature seems to be their remote-ness, far away from civilization. Only in deep, deep nature is one supposed to encounter them.

I had a hard time falling asleep last night, even though I was so tired. Less tired today. I took a nap. So…hopefully I fall asleep better? It’s the time change plus such a weird week of work that has me all out of whack. But, I got my work done. Another six pages. The story is cooking. In the exciting middle part. So many writers talk about the middle being so hard and terrifying, but I, truly, have always loved the middle part the most. It’s the adventure!

Now for some reading. Night night.
