I’m a softie. I know…not scoring points here on the masculinity scale, but it’s true. I put up a pull-up bar in my office today with these MASSIVE three-inch screws…bolts, really, and they were too big for the set of bits I have for my drill, so I had to crank them in by hand. Yeah. That shit hurt. Made me sweat. Also made me feel like a goddamn weakling.

But, hey. I get ’em in. And that thing is SOLID. It’s not going *anywhere*. No drywall screws for that shit, it’s straight into the wooden studs. LEGIT. The only thing is that I wish it stuck out a little bit more from the wall to there was more clearance, but whatever. It’s in a doorway, which I can open, and that means plenty of room. Shouldn’t be swinging back and forth doing pullups anyway.

It also meant I got to disassemble the Tower of Power…this monstrosity I bought back when we first moved in and actually used for about four months. Beyond that, it just sat in there taking up space. Now that I feel  a little more bold about the apartment situation, putting up a wall-mounted aparatus was a no-brainer given how much space it saves. The tower will get donated now. It’s worth less than $100, and I kinda decided that’s the threshhold for what’s worth selling on craigslist and what’s better off just taken down to the Jewish Women’s Council.

Also finished Act 4 today, as I’d hoped. It clocked in at ONE page over expected, which is AWESOME. So far, it’s only Act 2 that really needs work on shortening. It’s going to be a challenge since I feel there’s so much character buildng stuff there…but we’ll see. I don’t think I’ll slash anything to drastic until after I have a couple people give it a read.

On a writing ROLL, man…it’s been a couple weeks in a row now that I have’t missed a day. I didn’t sit down with my short story today like I’d planned, but that’s okay. That, too, is going to get done. And I’m really restricted on the page count on that one, too, so I should be able to rip through it pretty quickly.

Talked to my moms while I was on a walk with the pups, that was nice. She’s good. Working. Dad’s good, too – he got a dead battery after going out to check on Bear Clover. But, my Dad’s a G when it comes to dealing with stuff like that, so I’m sure it wasn’t anything too crazy. We talked about the holidays, which are now SO CLOSE. This year has kinda flown by…but REALLY it’s been this fall that’s flown by. I feel like it was freaking two weeks ago that it was August, but here we are arriving at the end of November. I mean, it’s going to be a whole month now that I’ve been with Netflix! That’s insane.

Anywho, it’s 12:30, which means it’s time for sleeps. I took a nice long nap today, which I really needed, and I’m feeling refreshed right now. A good mix these past two days of work and leisure. Really looking forward to Thanksgiving, too 🙂

Good night!
