Quick one tonight, it’s already past midnight.

Was an up-and-down work day today, but I did a respectable amount and I got both of my writing hours done. I have two scenes left. TWO. That’s it. Unfortunately, I’m also going to be over by like, 12 pages. That’s a decent amount that still needs to be cut down. Goddamnit. Not as bad as it could be, but not good.

Got two more pages written on the Trek short story, too. That’s moving along at a snail’s pace, but it is moving. I want to FINISH that in the next few days, and if that’s the case, I have my work cut out for me.

Whatever, it’s only the first year I’ll be entering the contest. If this story doesn’t come together the way I hope it will…well, then I’ll just write another for next year.

I’ve started thinking too about how I want to set up my work schedule next year, at least if it all goes uninterrupted (ie- like, selling a book or getting a job of some kind on a TV show, etc.). A plan, should all other things remain the same. Opportunities will come up, I’m sure, and I’ll have to weigh whether to jump on them or not as they do.

I don’t think I’m ready to announce on these pages yet what my plan will be, but it’s definitely going to start with the big rewrite on Starstuff and its sequel…and then after that, probably a novel version of The Foundation as well as a novel version of Icarus. Oh…and perhaps my Star Trek novel, which would really just be an exercise in fanfiction and using that for fun and to meet some readers. Guys…that’s 6 books, maybe even 7. I can’t plan ahead that far, I don’t think…but I *can* plan on the next couple. It’s the Starstuff sequel, and — oh shit, no, I know what’s next, it’s the “nome” book. Fuck. Yup. So those are my next two first draft projects. I mean…that will take me into summer of next year, and that’s if everything goes perfectly to plan.

We’ll see. I know I can do it. I want to write three books next year. THREE. Starstuff sequel (tentatively called The Traitor), the first “nome” book, and then Icarus, I think, since that story is already so fleshed out. Do The Foundation after those are all started. The idea would be to be doing rewrites on one book while the first draft is being written on another.

We’ll see how it goes, guys. That’s so incredibly ambitious, I don’t really know what to say. I hope I can do it. We’ll see.

Good night!
