Amazingly fantastical art tonight from Paul Lehr.

Sooooo close, you guys. So close to the end of the work for 2015, and the end of this very winding, twisting, and wonderful year.

I had a really, really good work day today, if not on the long side. I worked 12 hours today…I think? Something like that. Later than usual. I had catching up to do from lack of productivity during the week, but I was able to bear down today and really power through. I have a few hours of work to do tomorrow, but then that’s almost it for the next week or so. Taking some time off.

My family comes into town tomorrow! They won’t actually be staying through official Christmas, but they will be here for the next four days, and we’re going to do OUR Christmas on the 23rd. Can’t wait. My office is PILED right now with boxes from the various retailers that we all bought presents from.

I bit the bullet and opened all the boxes so I could see who they were from, and who they were for. But, surprisingly, I don’t think I actually spoiled a single of the gifts that were in there for me. I’m not a big gift-spoiler type of person. Liz used to try to get me to guess what she got me for a present all the time, but I always was like, no! I don’t want to guess because I want to just be surprised! Doesn’t stop her still from trying to get me to guess now and then, even to this day 😛

I watched more of the X-Files today, getting into the real meat of Season 2 right now and it is SO GOOD. This multi-episode arc about Scully being abducted? Holy poops! So fun. So well done. Really, REALLY makes you feel like the connection between the two of them is real and deep and just the pillar of that whole show, man. What great writing, and what great casting.

Okay, it’s sleepy times. Hitting me hard right now. I think that’s all I had to say today anyway. Can’t wait to have my family in town, can’t wait to do Christmas…life is good. I was feeling down on my short story today since the read of it last night was so much more disappointing than I had hoped, but now I feel better. I’m not sure why, exactly, but I do. The solutions are out there.

Good night!
