We done did our taxes today. We owed some money…but not much. It was a little disappointing in that of course we wanted to get money BACK…but it’s actually much better to owe a little money than to have paid more in taxes than we were supposed to. Better to have that money in our own savings than in the hands of ol’ Uncle Sam. I mean, at least that’s what all the accounting and financial-types out there say. But let’s be real…it always sucks to have to pay taxes. Yes. Even for us liberal-types.

But, they’re PAID. And we had the money we needed to do it. With my “new” job this year being a W2 job and all, next year’s taxes should be much easier. I should get a decent chunk of change back, I think…they take out A LOT. Which I wanted them to. It’s easier than me keeping track of all that shit myself.

Talked with the Ho very briefly today too about us looking into a financial planner. I know a couple of my friends my age who have them, and it seems like a good idea. It’s not easy to decide what to do with savings, and how to plan for the future, you know? Having some expert help might be a good idea. We also figured out today that we’ll be getting health insurance this year, which is a freaking relief. We tried last year and failed…got lost in the system. But not this year! This year, we golden apples to the bank! I completely just made the phrase up…and I like it.

Hung out with the pups all day. That was nice. It was raining pretty much the entire day. Except for the morning walkies and the nighttime walkies…although it dripped on us for a hot second RIGHT when we were the furthest from home…but we ended up okay. Oh, and the Ho and I had breakfast together too. That was nice. Did some more prep work for the new Flix gig.

I got to watch some of both the A’s game and the Warriors game. Both won. Warriors need to win two more to make history. A’s need to…well, win A LOT more. Team showed signs of life tonight offensively and solid starting pitching. MUCH better outing for Rich Hill than last time. Devastating curveball that’s effective to both lefties and righties. If our team, and I do mean IF…if we have good starting pitching this year, the A’s have a chance. Maybe not to win the division or even get that far in the postseason, but a wildcard. I think it’s far more likely that our starting pitching will really, really struggle this year…and we’ll be one of the worst teams in the AL. BUT…there’s a chance.

Anywho…tomorrow I’m planning on an actual full day off. Vegging the fuck OUT. All day. No other obligations! Except maybe some laundry, but that shit doesn’t count. Some Masters, some baseball, huge game against the Spurs that I think the Warriors are going to lose…maybe watch some Daredevil and/or playing some Bioshock. You know…normal “day off stuff.”

Wish me luck.
