I’m sitting in my own bed. That has to be one of the nicest things about coming home after travelling, right? Snuggling into your own bed. It’s sagged and dipped and creased over time right to your perfect proportions. The sheets smell like home, your favorite blankets are piled on top, and your pillow is just much more comfy than the big stiff ones at the hotel. You just sleep better there, you know? At least I do…

We got up this morning and went to see an Instagram friend. Cooper and Coco have many, many of those. We met up with a Shih tzu named Gizmo and his human, and we ended up walking down the street a little ways to the park that we’d walked around yesterday and just kinda talking and hanging out. We met a few other dogs too. It was cool. And it was beautiful outside today, holy crap. So freaking pretty. It would get a little warm in the sun, but then this tiny gentle breeze would come through and it was so cool and refreshing. Seriously, a beautiful day in downtown Chicago.

Then we went back to the hotel lobby where the rest of my family eventually joined us and we all hung out for a bit. Then we went up north a bit to the zoo and walked around there for a while. We ate some lunch at the cafeteria there, which I’d totally poo-poo’d in my hanger state…but actually turned out to be just fine. I had a Chicago dog.

And then bam, it was already time for Seth and Lena to head back to their hotel and catch their flight back to New York. None of us really realized that we were parting ways at that point, such was the scramble to get a taxi, so I really didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to Seth and Lena…was a bit bummed about that…but I did get to talk to him on the phone afterwards. I miss him already.

The Ho and I were in a car with Scott and Addie on the way back, and we slipped into an Apple Store for a hot second to see if we could get him the watch band he wanted. They were out, but he still got to see in person what the different colors looked like, so it wasn’t a total waste. Then the Ho and I were off to our own hotel to pick up our bags and catch a ride to the airport ourselves. That was uneventful, as was the journey through security. We even had time to grab some grub before we boarded.

We watched more of Jessica Jones on the flight home. It’s an up-and-down show, that’s for sure. But…we both *think* there’s enough for us to keep watching. We’ll see. Then, we landed, and Arg and Kristen came with the pups to meet us! Coco was so happy to see me she licked my face for like five minutes. Coco doesn’t lick faces. They’re both currently passed the fuck out, which is what I’m about to do myself. They were both running around the house, they were so excited to be home. Coco went into her kennel where we feed her for a second and checked to make sure her food bowl was in there. It was fast too, like she poked her head in, sniffed that the bowl was there, and was then like “yup, still there” and moved on to check and see that everything else was where it was supposed to be. It was funny.

Okay…it’s time for some big sleeps. So…tired…

G’Night!
