So Moderat was amazing.
Holy balls. They were so freaking good. Burnt the house down.
It was in this cool old Art Deco theater. Their visuals were amazing. Their track selection was amazing. They have three albums together now, so they were really able to cherry pick what they wanted to play and it was so many of my favorites of their lesser known tracks.
J was the most excited out of all of us, which is saying something because I was SO freaking excited to finally see them play. Apparat has been one of my top favorite artists out there for a good 10 years now.
It was really just fucking amazing. Made me realize how much I want to see a few other acts from that era, like Paul Kalkbrenner and Trentemoller. I hope they come to the states some day.
Anyway, the day started off with some stress. The building had its alarm go off, and that froze the elevator. But we were able to get that taken care of, and the rest of the day was great. Had sushi for dinner and it was SO CHEAP. Did some shopping with the sisters.
After the show, we came back to our room and too the pups out, who were so happy to see us. We went and got some doner kabobs and ate them down in the inside lounge that leads out to the pool. So fucking good.
Now it’s sleep time. We’re all wiped.
Oh! And it was a fucking Trump rally right outside our hotel today, and I mean that shit was going down LITERALLY right outside our hotel. The rival protestors were being dispersed by a shit ton of police. We were actually justifiably afraid that we wouldn’t be able to get out for dinner. I could see the police carrying tear gas launchers and rubber bullet guns. I mean, it was insane you guys. We saw fights. Arrests. Nuts.
