I have an empty head tonight… 😛 I’m not sure what this entry is going to be about.

I watched the Warriors beat the Rockets tonight…*finally*…I mean, they never got to the point in the game where they were in danger of actually losing…in fact, they were ahead the entire game. They had a lead every minute of the entire game. But, BUT…they had a 22-point lead at one point in the second quarter, and then proceeded to -at one point- only lead by 3. That is not good. But, I will say this: they pulled it together and they closed out the game. That means a lot.

I think the Warriors might actually be a better team with Durant off the court. This team, honestly, looks leaner, meaner, and hungrier. I mean, I’ll be glad to see that I’m wrong if Durant comes back and they look unstoppable; I hope that happens. But, what I do know is this: the Warriors coasted too often before Durant went down to injury – they lost games they should have won. Quite a few of them (for a team that won a record number of games last year).

Then, when Durant went down, this team felt vulnerable all of the sudden, and they got their ShihTzu together. It took a 3-game losing streak (and I feel like it was a stretch of, like, 1-5 or something like that) for them to figure out who they were without KD…but they did figure it out and they now look like a dynamo. So…I’m worried about KD coming back, which sounds crazy, but it’s true. I’m worried about fixing what isn’t broke.

Baseball season starts next week. I’m looking forward to that, too. I love the sports. I really do. Obviously 🙂 They’re just so much fun. Anything can happen! It’s live. People are excited. There are things to analyze and break down, feats of physicality to ooo and ahhh over. It’s just the best. Sport.

I think that’s about all I got tonight. I slayed work today. In a good rhythm with that.

That makes me think about the Ho reading to me from this article/interview with Matthew Weiner, the guy who created Mad Men. He was talking about writing every day, or at least during the work week, and how little one actually has to accomplish each and every day; as long as you do it *every* *day* without fail, you will get a shit-ton, a mountain of work done.

I know that from personal experience. It’s how I wrote my novel. I set a small goal each day, and I made sure I hit that small goal each day. A couple months later, I’d written my first novel.

It really is as simple as that. Not as easy as that, mind you…but it is that simple.

Build a habit, a routine. Focus on that. Don’t get distracted by anything else…
