We say farewell to March. We also say farewell to the first quarter of 2017.

I love the first three months of the year. Especially March. It’s always been one of my favorite months. At least as an adult down here in LA. It warms up juuusssttt a little bit, my allergies are a little less intense (looking at you February), it rains a couple times, and everything is just fresh. It’s the beginning of SoCal spring. Spring Training is always so fun to listen to while I work, too…games where nothing really counts, you know? New faces. The year hasn’t begun yet, anything can happen.

I got a decent amount of work done this first quarter, though not quite as much as I’d hoped. Particularly in March, where my work load kind of caught up to me and I had to make decisions about what to spend time on, and what I had to let slide.

That ends in April. I got notice from the Flix work that I can continue with them for two more weeks, which is great. I won’t do narrations aside from re-records, I’ll just do Flix work and work on TG1T. I have a month to get as much of that shit done as I possibly can. I won’t be able to finish it all…I realize that. But, at the very least, I’m going to track each step of the process and how much time it takes, so that the next time it comes around, I have actual numbers as to how long everything is going to take to finish. I have 50 episodes to get through.

The Ho is back to work now, she just shot her first episode of this back half of season “one”…which we think is going to be released by Netflix as season “two” when it’s all said and done…but that’s not actually super clear. I’m sure it’s some funk way of doing things that saves them money and/or works better with their release schedule 😛 Such is the way of the biz. But, she’s back, the show is back, and it’s kicking off with a bang. I got to see some of it this week, and then I was there tonight for the taping. My lips are sealed as to what I saw, however. Y’all just gonna have to watch it for yourselves, yo.

Coco just snuggled up next to me post-whimzee stick. I love that dog. So much. And Coops just came up to wedge himself in between my legs too. Love him. He’s my shadow, my constant companion. Coco isn’t always there. But Coops is. He’s my little warrior. Coco is my little survivor.

I got stuff done over the past few months, guys. More than I was able to get done almost all of last year. Almost.

Oh, and I had a little revelation (perhaps, we’ll see) today about writing and how to churn out a lot of content – seemingly – …and it was that perhaps I should write every day. Before you say “duuuhhhh,” let me elaborate. I mean new pages every day. No matter what the release schedule is, or what “stage” of the process an upcoming book is in at the moment…new pages every day. I’d set aside a chunk of time every day to write a goal…let’s say 3000 words…and that happens every day of the year. Except perhaps weekends…or vacations? But, yeah…write one book and immediately move onto the next book and write that every day, and then the next and the next, and never stop. Then set aside the rest of the work days’ time to all the other bullshit – rewriting, outlining, marketing, contracting, etc. But, first thing, every day: new pages and a word count. Every day.

I think it’s a recipe for success. So much of writing is rhythm, and with that method, you never lose it. Completely, anyway. I’m sure it goes in and out regardless…but it’s not a full stop and reset. That’s what plagued this rewrite of Starstuff so much…too much time between drafts and writing regular prose. That first draft writing really is my true love, and this way, I get to do it every day. Creating instead of “fixing.” It sounds wonderful. It’ll just be a matter of setting a realistic word count. That’s the ticket to success.

I’m grateful for this first part of 2017, and I’m excited for the next part.

Let’s doooo iiiitttttttt
