Warriors swept the Blazers tonight. Nobody is surprised.
Which is by no means an indictment on the Blazers. They’re a very quality team with a pair of legit stars…but they were an 8 seed, they struggled for much of the regular season for consistency, and while they put together a great run to close out the regular season, I still don’t think they’d won a single game against the Warriors. And that was regular season Warriors. Playoff Warriors are a different beast. Granted, every team is a different beast to some extent in the playoffs, but you know…peak performance Warriors are a bigger obstacle than almost any other team at their peak…except perhaps the Cavs.
So, to Portland, I say byeeeee. It was still an entertaining series to watch, and don’t been too downtrodden about it – Damian and CJ are still legit superstars.
I worked today. New phase of the project, which is always a gring at first. Big goals for tomorrow. I want to finish out season 2 and then start on season 3 for this phase, which is exporting out the various sound bytes that I’ve indentified can be used at the beginning of the episode, or for a teaser. THEN edits happen. I realized I have to do it this way because when I do the edits, I end up moving the audio tracks around, and that messes up all my markers…hence this step has to be done first.
So, man, if I can finished exporting out all these sound bytes by Wednesday, then maybe just maybe I can get all the edits done by Friday…then use next week to drop in the extra clips at the beginning and in the middle (taken from the live recordings of us watching the episode…that shit takes a while, too. But, sigh…it’s worth it)…I’ll be in good shape. Reasonable shape, at least. I can stretch out the rest of the tasks of mastering, exporting and gathering all the metadata over the next month or so after making an announcement that the season is going to premier.
So…premier date announcement is nearing, y’all. Maybe as early as late next week. We shall see.
Then…the summer of writing begins! I’m super excited. For reals.
