So, we went to the Eureka Zoo today…and…

…it was dope.

Seriously. This backwater, podunk town of mine that has such a problem with jobs and drugs these days has a DOPE FUCKING ZOO. It’s so, SO much more developed than when I was a kid, and it has so SO much to see and learn and all that amazing zoo stuff. I like the Eureka Zoo more than I like the LA Zoo, full stop. We saw these adorable little bear-dog things called Bush Dogs…I think? And we saw three otters putting on a show for kids on top of a plastic tube that went through their habitat, and we saw a feeding of the Red Pandas where they were super active and friendly and so friggin adorable.

And then we had ice cream and french fries at the cafe, and walked around the flower garden just outside of the Zoo. You guys…it’s the coolest tiny zoo I’ve ever been to. No question. They even have the tooth fairy’s house there (which has been there since I was a wee one).

Then we went out to the beach and walked along the jetty, which was a much longer walk than I think any of us really remembered…but it made us super freaking hungry for dinner at the Samoa Cookhouse which was absolutely delicious. Had a great time with my little cousins-in-law Azelia and Cassie. They hanged with us for the whole day and we had a great time.

And then we came home and walked the pups and now we’re all completed tuckered out. Whew!

More adventures tomorrow 🙂
