So, the Josh and I podcasted tonight. We got through two episodes of the animated series, and holy shyte balls were they CRAZY EPISODES. Guys. You haaaaavvvvveeee to watch the animated series at least once. It’s kinda a crap show…it’s SUPER cheap, and it’s definitely made for kids, although they forget that sometimes too. It’s just the wackiest of all the Treks and it has to be watched at least once.

I swear to you, all these things were in just the two episodes that we watched: a giant 30-foot tall Spock, flying dinosaurs, talking plants, the devil, Spock doing magic like the kind you do by drawing a pentagram on the floor, a witch trial, Kirk in a wizard battle, and reference to a race of bipedal cat warriors. Telling you…watch this show.

I wrote today, but only got through 2,000 words, which means I’ve lost a day. But, man…I’ve just realized this is part of my process. I’m going to lose a day or two here and there. I’m not going to let it get out of control this time. I swear to freaking god, I’m not. I will be done with this book next week, and I *want* to try and be done on my deadline next month. But if that has to be pushed back, so be it. I’m not going to send this book out with gaping holes in it unaddressed.

This book is a slog…but I do have remember to trust the process. Sometimes it’s like this. Sometimes the ideas are hard to come by and sometimes they’re easy. That’s the nature of creation. I’m going to make this book as good as I can…and then I’ll move on. BUT, I’m not going to release the book until it IS as good as I can make it right now.

The Ho just told me about this bullsh*t motivational quotes that I totally believe in: make something today, even if it sucks. That is the ticket. I’ve been through the process of creation enough times to know that you have to push through the crap in order to find the gems. And number two: I am not always the best or correct judge of which of my works are “crap” and which are “gems.”

In any event, it was a rather unproductive day given what I know I can do…but tomorrow we’re back on. Back on like donkey Kong.
