Today, I had my best-selling day ever in my baby authoring career of six days (seven, now that today is complete).

I was featured in this email list called eReader News Today…or at least I’m *pretty* sure that was the feature that got me so much attention today, and I would guess that since I’ve heard other people talk about it before…and I woke up to 24 sales by 8am. That figure already would have put me at my second-best sales day ever, my first being launch day, and that was really because of my list who basically bought 1 copy per click on my link (an *incredible* conversion ratio).

Well…today, I’m going to sell around 75 copies. In a DAY. It’s…it’s amazing. And I can’t wait to get back up to this level, and maybe even KEEP it at that level with some ads. We’ll see how it goes. What this PROVES to me, already, is that my book has a market. I’ve sold it to 200 people in a week’s time, and that was from exposing people to it. Just getting people in front of my cover and my blurb. It’s proof to me that advertising CAN work for this book. I’m just going to have to figure out how to do that.

I can’t tell you how affirming that is, you guys, that there is a market out there for the fiction I write. THERE ARE READERS OUT THERE. A lot of them. And they are so, so hungry for good stories. It’s completely different from when I was in the music industry, and there just weren’t enough customers out there willing to buy progressive house music to make a living selling it. It’s a relief, honestly. I’ve finally found something I’m good at that I can succeed at just by being smart and working really hard.

In other news, I worked on Netflix work all day, I *did* do my minimum number of words writing-wise, though it wasn’t actually on the novel, and the Ho and I got to sit down and watch the rest of The Mummy together…which, guys, if you haven’t seen it IS SO FREAKING GOOD. I can’t believe it was critically panned at the time, I really can’t. It’s funny, it’s exciting, it’s actually scary in certain parts, the effects actually hold up for the most part, and it NAILS the feeling of those old monster movie classics, which I know is exactly what they were going for. And seriously, Brendan Fraser is so, soooooo good. And Rachael Weisz.

The Ho and I were talking about it, and for us…this movie actually ranks higher than Temple of Doom, which means it actually ranks with Indiana Jones. Crazy. But I mean it. (Though Temple of Doom is really not that good of a movie at all, if we’re actually being honest here). Sure, Raiders and Crusade are liiiiightyears ahead of The Mummy…but still. It’s better than one (two) of the Indiana Jones movies, and that’s really saying something, I think.

That’s all for tonight. Sleepy times for now, and then I get up on time and more work happens. I’m working on a Netflix project that involves…gasp…Discovery. Eeeee 🙂
