The first draft is done.

DONE.

It feels…slightly less climactic then it did the first time around. Sigh. Perhaps it’s because I know just how much work is still ahead of me. Perhaps it’s because I rushed through a couple of the ending scenes because I knew if I didn’t, I wouldn’t finish tonight, and I really wanted to finish tonight. I’m not exactly sure. Perhaps it’s a combination of the two. But…it is done. 110,000 words.

I wrote 5,000 of those words today.

I’m pretty beat, and it’s past midnight. It’s time to bid you all adieu. More work tomorrow. I need to sketch out exactly what scenes to rework from the ground up, and start brainstorming on what scenes to cut all together in order to bring us to the proper word count for this novel…95,000 words. That’s…a lot of cutting. But I can do it. And man, if I can…I think it has a good chance of being a very fast-paced exciting book. Perhaps not as much “charm” as the first one…but my main focus on the rewrite is going to be making sure that it’s FUN and it’s EXCITING.

That’s all for tonight. I got the remastered version of Skyrim today and played it a bit after finishing my draft. It was my reward to myself. I loved it. Missed that game!
