Today was just a GOOD day. Damn, what a fine day.

I got done pretty much everything I wanted to, with the exception of finishing the TG1T episode I was working on…but I used the timer method to start the writing off right, and holy moly, it was successful. I wrote 2,700 words today. I did end beaching myself a bit at the end there, but I figured that was a good place as any to just stop and come back tomorrow after my unconscious mind has had a chance to work on it.

I recognize that it’s these “beached” sections where I really slow down in my writing process. I know now, also, that I can’t rush through them. I have to take my time with them and work it out…but, I also know that I can actually move faster and find the solutions in less calendar time if I just sit down and do the work. That’s the key. Not to hit my daily word count, per se, but to sit down and put in the TIME when I’ve come to a point in the story that I don’t feel had been fully fleshed out.

Just had to spend a few minutes writing out some ideas that just came to me. I seem to have those after a good writing day as I sit down to write these entries. Fragments of the story to come, or rewrite ideas for what I’ve written, or even better, solutions to problems will come to me like they just did, and I have to go and sketch them down. It’s the solutions and the other good ideas that keep me going now. It’s reassuring to have them. I spend so long on this story spitting out nothing. Not any more! Praise be to baby g.

It’s time for the sleepies now. I didn’t get my full eight hours last night. There was some building stuff I had to take care of early, and that sucked, but it is what it is. I didn’t nap. I was on a roll.

Night!
