Sean Manaea, one of the A’s younger starting pitchers, threw a no-hitter tonight against the best team (and, arguably, best offense) in baseball! The Ho and I got to watch it live together. It was pretty magical.

I remember the last no-hitter I watched. It was 8 years ago on Mother’s Day, it was actually a perfect game (no hits, no walks, no errors) by Dallas Braden, and I was late to work so I could watch it until the end. I remember I was literally standing in my living room with my work clothes on and my work bag sling over my shoulder, keys in hand, jumping up and down and shouting at the TV. Granted, a perfect game is MUCH more rare than a no-hitter, but still…a no-no is quite an achievement.

I had a good writing day today! And, in fact, I’m going to cut this entry short so I make sure I get up early enough tomorrow to do my writing before we leave for the day.

So, ciao for now. Night!
