We made it.

We’re in Maui.

I thought the flight out here was super quick and low key; Liz thought it was long 😛 I napped, I wrote my words, I played a little Switch (Mario Kart, still working on getting three stars on this particular circuit. It’s tough!), and I read.

I read a lot, actually. I’m reading The Story Grid right now and it is giving me LIFE. I *completely* agree with this guy’s assessment of story, what makes it work, and what makes it not work. It’s mana from heaven. I’m lapping it up. I want to analyze story like he does. Good chance I might finish the book before we leave Maui. We’ll see.

We were off at the buttcrack this morning. Had to hail THREE Lyfts because this one fucker wouldn’t pick us up, cancelled, and then cancelled us a second time. Uuuuggghhhh.

But, to be honest, everything was smooooth sailing from that point on. Got to LAX in time to speed through baggage and TSA Pre-check (again…the best freaking thing ever in the history of the world), got some food, and then boarded our plane, which was a cool ex-Virgin America plane. Great amenities like tons of free movies, comfy seats with a biiit more leg room than Southwest, it was cool.

We landed, made a Costco pit stop and got some Poke which is OUT OF THIS WORLD. It is So. Much. Better. than Poke in LA. Good lord, it’s good. So fresh. So soft. So flavorful. We ate that once we checked into our hotel, which was super fancy – they took up our bags, intercepted us at the entryway so we didn’t even have to go to the counter, gave us leis and some lemonade, and then gave us our keys.

Then we took a nap–well, *I* did. It was sundown by that time, and we took a stroll along the beach, then came back and drank some champagne and went down to swim in the pool and hang out in the hot tub. Magical.

It’s so magical here. It’s just SO PRETTY. The air is so SWEET, and the weather is so magical. We napped with our whole balcony door open, and listened to the ocean. Oh! We have an ocean view. It’s awesome.

Just now, we got a little snack before bed because we never really had a full-blown dinner, per se, took a shower, and now it’s bed times.

So glad to be here! Good night 😉
