The A’s are back in the postseason.

I know that probably doesn’t mean squat to about 99% of you…but it means a lot to me. I’ve been an A’s fan since I was ten years old. They haven’t won a World Series since I’ve been a fan, but they have won one since I’ve been alive, in 1989, and that championship was a huge reason I became a baseball fan. I grew up listening to that championship core on the radio.

This young team we have could bring a ring to Oakland. I truly believe it. They’re a team with major, serious flaws right now–their starting pitching is a gaping one, truly massive–and yet, they’ve gone on to win 95 games so far this year. That would be a rather amazing total at the year’s END…and we’re there with five games left to play. Seriously, an incredibly talented young team. The sky is the limit for these boys. I can’t wait to see where we go.

I wrote about 2,200 words today. Not my best day, but I had a truly horrible night’s sleep, which doesn’t happen to me often. I think it was allergies. So, I’m drugged up and ready for sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a good day. I’m going to try and visual-outline the rest of the book, scene by scene. I’ve slipped back into the groove finally where if I can just see a scene, know what it’s going to look like before I sit down to write it, I can really crank through it. And I’m so close to the end of this book. So, that’s what I’m going to do, see where that takes me. I’d love to finish this book by the end of the month, and it’s totally possible.

So, yeah…I did my exercises, too. Stretches. My back and my hip/butt feel so much better after doing these stretches on the regular.

Let’s go A’s! And let’s get this fracking book finished! 🙂
