Whew.

Okay…so today was a travel day. Got up early, even though pops and I talked for a long time last night, and “hustled” my parents out the door so we could go have breakfast together. I put “hustled” in quotes because it took half an hour, but that is excellent for my family 😂

We went up to the casino that’s in Fernbridge and ate at the restaurant there. We all had blueberry pancakes, and they were delicious. Then, we drove the rest of the way up to the airport, and I was right on time to go through security and get to the gate for my flight. It couldn’t have been timed any better.

Flights were fine. Layover in SFO, but to be honest, if you’re ever doing a connecting flight through SFO, make sure you get a cushion of time. That place is a shiiiiit show, and flights are *constantly* delayed there, so the extra time was well worth it.

Got into LAX on time, Bear and the pups were waiting. Ooohhh, they were so happy to see me. Coco wouldn’t stop rubbing her face on my leg. Got home, ate some food, and we watched a few episodes of this second season of Making a Murderer.

I don’t know about this season. Or, rather, I *like* this season…but I am just finding it very, very hard to believe what Avery’s defense attorney is putting together. Very. Hard. I think he did it. I’m just going to say it outright. I *also* think that law enforcement at the time did some really, really stupid stuff…but I just haven’t seen aaaannyyythhiinnggg that I would consider hard evidence to suggest that anyone other than Steve Avery killed that woman. Brendan Dassey continues to be a harder call for me. It all seems to hinge on the confession he gave, and the data to back up false confessions is rather remarkable. I think there’s a decent chance he’s innocent. BUT…we don’t get to see that entire interrogation, you know? It’s hard to make a judgement on partial information. 🤷‍♂️

Now…it’s time for the sleeps. I am dead tired. Happy to be home. It was a really, really nice trip up to see the family. A necessary trip. Love my parents.

Good night.
