I left my sunglasses at Stephen and Thida’s house.

Nooooooooooo.

I have just learned this. Sigh.

I was actually looking for them this morning. The sun is bright and low in the sky when I drive into the Flix. Alas. I shall have to last without them.

Today was a solid day at work. There was problem solving, there was cooking with gas…speaking of, that was a metaphor just now, but in terms of actual cooking: the food there is dope. Real food. Every day. Those workers have it so good, they don’t even know. Actually…I pretty sure they DO know 😛

I wrote in the morning, then some more in the evening. I got accomplished what I wanted to finish! Minus one-half of one worksheet, but still…that’s pretty damn awesome.

I also watched Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs. It was…problematic. To say the least. I don’t really feel qualified to make a judgement or treatise on why and exactly how it was problematic, so I’ll suffice it to say that it made me feel uncomfortable with many of its choices in how to depict Japanese culture and people. Nothing, perhaps, overtly antagonistic–but certainly problematic and tone deaf. And here’s the thing: it was aaaabbsolluuuttteellly avoidable. Unnecessary. Infuriatingly so.

I suppose I’ll write more about it later when I do a review.

Oh, I’m woefully behind on those reviews. I am sorry. I just managed to get myself into a rhythm writing-wise finally, and I fell behind in other areas. But, Isle was movie number 73 on the year. Closing in on 100. I honestly don’t think I’m going to make it…but we’ll see what happens.

Anywho…the Ho and I are both tired tonight. ‘Twas a long day. For the both of us.

G’night!
