Had breakfast today at the diner across the street from our hotel. It was okay. We both got bagels and lox. Satisfying, but nothing crazy special.
Joe Hill, the writer, was randomly also there. I guess he’s doing a signing over at Powell’s tomorrow.
Then, we came back to the hotel and took a nap. Or, Liz took a nap whilst I played some switch and watched the A’s play their last game of the regular season. They play the Wild Card game at home on Wednesday. We lost today. So, 97 wins. The exact number of wins from a year ago. Crazy! Hopefully that homefield advantage puts us over the top this time around.
Then we got up and went to Powell’s to get Liz a crochet book, and we found one! A good on that she thinks she’ll be able to use to great effect. After that, we drove down to hang with J and Mike and Lin for a while. Then Scott and Addie came over and we watched Mike and J open up their wedding gifts. That was awesome! It felt like Christmas.
Addie and Scott treated us to a fancy dinner. Like, a FANCY dinner. Food was delish, drinks were great, company was honestly the best. Scott and Addie are the best. Sincerely wish we lived closer so we could hang more often.
And after dinner, we drove back to J and Mike’s and hung out with them and Lin for a while longer. They’d started a fire. It was cozy. We chatted and laughed until it was late, and now…
