Damn. I have to make it a quick one tonight because I totally spaced that I need to do some writing work before tomorrow morning when I meet with my neeeewwww editor 🙂

I’m excited about that. We’re trading work this time.

Right now I’m listening to a mix CD I made fifteen years ago. It’s terrible, lol. I really struggled after that other mix CD I was telling you all about. Music…changed. And I hadn’t changed with it. Not yet. I hadn’t found techno, which sounds silly if you’re not familiar with just how granular the genres get in the world of electronic dance music circa 2004/2005 (and probably still to this day, tbh).

I liked progressive house and progressive trance. That’s what “Footsteps” was.

Well, in 2004 and even more in 2005, a new sound destroyed progressive. It was called electro, and all the most talented producers abandoned progressive in droves, catching this new wave. And I was left in the dust. Electro wasn’t really my thing. It wasn’t melodic enough. So…my sets in 2004 and 2005 weren’t very good. Not as good as they used to be. There were less great records.

But then I discovered James Holden, and HE was into TECHNO…which was darker, heavier, and just what I was looking for. And I took off with that shit in late 2005 all the way through when I hung it all up in 2012. Still love techno. It’s good shit.

Anywho….that’s all for tonight 😛
