Milestone today: I completed act one of Old Glory.

It’s good, too. Or, rather, it will be. The bones are there. Some sections will hardly need any work, actually, which was a pleasant surprise. I mean, I still have to read them, but I know they’ll work just because of how they came out.
It’s…a breath of fresh air. A relief. After wresting with EfRT for so long, something I’m still going to come back to, it’s totally different. And I will go back. But, I’m going to go back once I get a win or two under my belt, and this draft so far is a massive win. Massive.
Listening to my set from today. Another Tech House set, and this one turned out so HOUSEY. I dig it. Some good tracks today. Some not so great, but none of them bad. I am really, reeeaaalllyyy digging playing every day for an hour. And I’m realizing how much I NEED to in order to get my skills sharp and learn all this new music. Mainly, though, it’s just so fun. So, so fun.
Two tracks I liked from today are mixing right now. This one that is super housey, but with a nice little pad section and a vocal that repeats “San Francisco, where’s your disco,” and then this re-do of Madonna’s “Music,” which was that hit of hers where she sang “hey mr dj, put a record on, I wanna dance with my baby…”
I remember that song came out when I was in high school and we were getting radio play promos at the time that had all the new radio singles. That one came in, and I was like “yes, this is dope.” This cover of it is fun. Great tech house.
Anywho…have to get up nice and early tomorrow morning. Missed my teeth cleaning appointment because I fucking forgot about it, but they had an opening tomorrow morning at 8am. Blech. But, I deserve it. Plus, gotta get them teeth cleaned! I’m two months overdue.
So…to bed with me. Podcasted with Josh today, too. It was a busy day.
