I feel like I had a reset this weekend.

Thank you LORD. I needed it. Bit time. Or big time. Whatever.

I was able to “get back to normal” this weekend in a way that I haven’t felt in…weeks? Like, I’m sitting here in bed with new sheets, the cover blanket has been oxy-cleaned and washed, I have a haircut, my office isn’t insanely packed with shit, the laundry is done, I went and got groceries with bear, I had a nice little writing session after listening to a Story Grid podcast, got to see Joe, Madhuri, and Ashika over the weekend, and I got to PODCAST with Josh on Friday.

That’s…that’s a NORMAL weekend. And damn did I need one. I really, really, really needed a normal weekend. I’m very happy. My normal life makes me very, very happy and fulfilled.

I just had a little photo sesh with the Coopey, just to use our new camera a little bit and get used to using it. It feels so good in the hand. The sound of the shutter click is so satisfying to hear. The photos…look okay. They’re not quite as impressive out of the box and Arg’s camera we used on our getaway trip, but I suspect it has less to do with the camera itself and more with the LENS we have. Pretty sure Arg’s lens he was letting us use is like $1000. Our “kit” lens (that’s what it’s called apparently) is, like, $100 lens. Still! So much to learn. And I’m excited to learn it! Gonna try out video tomorrow, I think, with a DJ set. We’ll see how that goes.

Now…I think I’m going to read for a little bit. That sounds lovely.

It’s good to be back.

Night!
