What a WEEKEND.
Fam is back out of town again and home. We’re quite spread up and down the coast, my family. I definitely don’t see them as much as I’d like to, and especially not this past year.
It’s been a long time, now, since I went up home to Humboldt, especially. I think it was fall of 2018? Maybe ‘19. For my Dad’s birthday. Too long. That’s gotta happen this year. I’ll find the time.
More of a low key day today, which was nice. Went and looked at a tree nursery, which was fun. Ate food together. Talked. Hung out with the pups. Did therapy.
I got to watch a little baseball. We got swept in a four game series at home to start the season, and by the Astros, no less. Not good. Yikes, in fact. Hopefully we turn it around. 0-4 is a rough start. And we got BEAT, too. The games were not close.
I also got to watch the Warriors play, and they got beat, too, though the game WAS close. Couldn’t close. We had a chance to win, but we struggled down the stretch. It’s…disappointing. I thought they’d be closer this year to being a threat, but they’re not. They’re still barren on the back end. The Durant years really, truly gutted the depth of the franchise, and it’s showing. Painfully. Maybe they can add the right pieces in the offseason…but I really don’t know. They want to be perennial contenders. The Spurs model. That’s…really hard to do. Impossible, really. The Spurs were a unicorn. I don’t know if it’s going to happen for the Dubs.
We’ll. See.
Night.
