I’m not sure when last we were watching Grand Designs…might have been around this time last year…might have been this summer or spring (feels like it might be the latter)…but it feels like the PERFECT holiday show for us to watch. It’s cozy, it’s exciting and makes us cringe and laugh and empathize and say wow every time.
If you’re not familiar, it’s a show out of the UK about people building their dream homes. They often follow these people for YEARS as they struggle and struggle to finish such immense projects. And they don’t always finish. There have been several episodes where the house is never done. But they all have in common that they’re audacious and challenging in some way. It leads to some pretty spectacular results. So fun.
We worked on organizing the finances today. Made a nice big dent in it. Should be able to finish tomorrow, I think. And if not tomorrow, Friday for sure. That will hopefully be enough time to send it all off to our accountants to see if we need to do payroll before the end of the year. Might have turned a modest profit this year. Maybe not, though. We’ll see.
I’m really looking to having everything categorized so I can slot it all into our monthly budgets (which I was SUPPOSED to be doing all year long, but damn. I got overwhelmed this year with all the projects). I’m so curious to see how we did. How we can adjust those budgets for next year to make sure we’re in the black on everything.
So much more to do on it…but we genuinely did a huge chunk of it today filling in missing or mis-attributed information.
I think that’s allI got for you tonight except to say that Coco just turned herself around in bed so that she was facing me. And then she wanted to lick my nose when I came down to give her a kiss on the head. Love her so so much. So glad she’s healthy again. Sweet girl.
