On the air mattress in the guest bedroom tonight, and for the rest of the week, actually. Why?
BECAUSE THE FAM IS HERE. Ashika, my goddaughter, and her parents, our genuinely long-time friends Madhuri and Joe are here visiting and we could not be happier to have them.
We cleaned the house just in time for them to arrive, praise baby g. I was still able to get the work done that I wanted to get done today, AND…watched the Niners beat the Packers to advance to the NFC Championship game next week. Don’t know who we’re playing yet, but holy crap I did not think we’d get past even the FIRST round of the playoffs. Hell, I really didn’t even think we’d make the playoffs.
It was a wild, wild game in Green Bay, man. We won it off a blocked punt returned for a touchdown. At least, that was the turning point of the game. The LAST turning point of a wild game that had many of them. Jimmy G wasn’t great. But he was juuuust good enough. And the NFL is wild this year with parity. There’s not really any one team that doesn’t have major flaws, just like we do. We’ll see what happens.
Coco just curled up next to my foot, which means it’s time for bed.
So happy to have Joe and Madhuri and Ashika staying with us. It’s family. And family is amazing. Love them so much.
