Liz and I like to sleep at 70º at night.

With our new bedroom-only central air, we can set that temp precisely and ooohoooo boy is that glorious. Just cool enough to get snug in bed. Doesn’t hardly run the AC at all, unlike our old place where we had to get a rolling portable AC, the kind with the giant hoses that go up and out the window…never very efficient. Loud. Though…I always loved the white noise. We have an air purifier over in the corner by my side of the bed now, though, so that gives me the white noise I crave.

Today was a gorgeous, busy day. I got up early to meditate and keep my routine up of getting up at 6:45. I hooked up the light in my office. It works! It’s not straight, but that’s not my fault for once. Whoever installed the electrical box for the fixture put it in all wonky. No idea why. I’ll fix it some day.

Then I took care of the pups, we all went on a nice walk, and then it was over the hill to have brunch with Stephen and Thida at this place called Etta in Culver City and it was SO GOOD HOLY CRAP. One of the better brunches I’ve ever been to. Insanely delicious. Everyone agreed.

Came home after that and watched the Warriors beat the Grizzlies. I…thought they were going to lose. Convinced. If I’m being honest, anyway. I was texting with my friend Matt (hi, Matt!) and expressing hope we could win—we kept it close the whole game—but really, deep down inside, I really thought it was over. We’d lose. And we’d lose this series, and the questions about whether the Warriors could ever be the Warriors again would reach a boil.

Not so.

We won. Stole a game, really. Draymond was ejected. Every call, it seemed, went to the Grizzlies, even down the stretch in crunch time. And we have not been good in crunch time. But, we were today.

Stole game 1. Huge. Definitely need to play better. Need Draymond not to get ejected. Need to find a way to keep the legs fresh and strong at the end. And…then we might win this series.

After that, I was going to take a nap, but instead, I was feeling pretty energetic, and so I went out to set up my office. My desk, mainly. I don’t have everything I need to get it totally dialed, in—there’s still cables EVERYWHERE…but damn. I love it over in the new location. It makes the flow of that space SO MUCH BETTER. Looking forward to doing good work in there.

We walked the dogs again, made some dinner from yesterday’s leftovers, and at it out on our patio. It was just gorgeous out. After dinner, the Ho’s went and worked more on the puzzle, and I had to go do some Netflix work. Get some uploads going. Coops came out and helped me with that.

And now…sleep.

Night night.

ps – Happy Birthday Eve, my love. Can’t wait to celebrate with you tomorrow!
