Dinner with friends tonight at our house. Twas lovely. SO lovely. These are friends we’ve recently reconnected with. Not after a long absence or anything, it was a couple years, something like that, but so nice to reconnect all the same. We’re doing a hangout every month or two kind of thing, and really enjoying each other’s company.

Coco continues to improve. With the improvement certainly comes some sass in the form of barking. BUT…it is a good sign. So says the doc. It means she’s feeling stronger, wanting to move around and do things. It’s hard because we can’t let her do those things yet, really…but a lot of them she actually can (under supervision). Mostly, she wants to walk around the house and sniff, then crawl into one of her many beds and sleep. Can’t let her walk all that much. She’s allowed 5-10 minutes of activity, 3-4 times a day. So, I have to keep it to that. But, I was able to do that today. And she is walking. That’s such a relief.

But…mostly we want her sleeping. So, she got two sleepy pills today. She’s allowed three per day, technically, but we’ve only been giving her one, which is pretty much enough if one of us is able to keep one eye on her the whole day. I had too much stuff to do today to be with her all the time, however, so I gave her a morning pill and an afternoon pill. She is SO HIGH tonight. Still able to get up and pee and eat treats, so she’s not too out of it. But, she is suuuuper sleepy. And content. Very snuggly. It’s a good high, it would seem. Thank you lord. And now, she’s curled up next to me in bed.

Last night, she slept on top of me all night. Like, head on my shoulder, or body stretched along my side, or even head on my neck sometimes. I’m not a tosser or a turner, so it’s safe for her to do that, but it definitely alternates between fucking goddamn adorable and suffocating. I slept soundly, though, so it obviously wasn’t an issue. She’s been super attached to me. Poor baby. She milks it, though…hence the barking.

I have a very, very busy week ahead of me. Wish me luck!
