I remember Christmas Eve…must have been 2014, I think? I finished the first draft of my first novel. Might have been the day before, but either way, we were up in the Bay Area (San Francisco) visiting family. We’d just gotten married a couple months earlier. I was reading and writing up SciFi classics that I’d always wanted to read but hadn’t gotten around to.

I want to bring that back, by the way, in 2023: read more books. Not all of them classics, maybe. Need some room for other stuff, both fluff and just outside of “necessary reading.” But, I just want to have TIME…to make time for reading again. Really, really looking forward to that.

I woke up early and got my time card in for work. I was supposed to have that done yesterday, but I ran out of time. Heh. Did that first thing. Then I started cleaning up the house, a task that Liz finished. Her dad Lin is in town, spending the holidays with us. I walked the pups. Ate, finally, started work on editing together the podcast we’d recorded the night before, was falling asleep at my computer, and so I then took a nap. An epic one.

Woke up in time to watch most of the Niners game, Lin came in and we all ate some food together, I fed the pups dinner, and then I went out and finished editing and posting the podcast. It was time to walk the pups by that point, then eat dinner, did some FaceTiming with family, and then we watched the movie The Redeem Team which was about the USA basketball team that reclaimed glory and dominance in the olympics after letting those reins slip for a period of about six years. Great doc. Loved it.

Now…sleep.

Merry Christmas everyone.
