We started Fallout tonight. Watched the first two episodes. It’s fun. Great cold open, actually. Like, very good. I think the tone of the show is a bit up and down—I get it, the game is very gallows humor, it is the end of the world, after all, so it’s not that I dislike the idea of the show matching that kind of glib humor—it just doesn’t always land. More often than not, it doesn’t, actually. And the pacing is off. Too much too fast. Robs us a bit of meeting and falling in love with the characters. BUT…
That said, it’s fun. Genuinely. I think I’ll finish it. Not sure if it will top my list or anything like that, but it looks like it’s going to be fun.
Writing today was great. I’m almost done with Act 1! Granted, it’s a quick act 1 in this book—something I’ve finally figured out how to do!—but still, it’s real progress. It’s SO FUN to figure out the story. Can’t wait to write it.
Work was quiet. That was nice. Took a nap. Even got a little reading in. A very, very good day. Night night.
