We’re watching The Jinx: Part Two finally, which is coverage of the Robert Durst trial, and tonight its just making me think about the fact that some people will literally like you just because you’re rich. I get it, truly. Money makes almost anything possible, at least when it comes to navigating through the world. It can’t touch anything on the inside, really, but it’s the most powerful force in everything outside. So, yeah. I get it. Rich people have access to things the rest of us don’t—that’s exciting and enticing. But it’s also just kinda wild. It’s a weird, hollow reason to want to be around someone.
It’s also wild watching this show and thinking about watching the original, back in…2017, I think it was? We were back in the apartment building, Liz had just done Disjointed, I was going full time with my writing, and Coco was alive. We watched each week, having NO IDEA it would blow up the way it did for its finale, him being arrested on the run in New Orleans to be hauled to LA for the murder of Susan Bergman…and then him wearing the mic in the bathroom in the finale and saying “I killed them all, of course.” It. Was. Wiiilllddd. Felt like a moment in history. And Coco was alive.
Coops has been especially cute lately for some reason. It’s the combination of a great haircut, I think, and he’s just really happy right now. His eye is still healing, but it obviously doesn’t hurt him any more. He’s reached a peace with Joy’s existence, so she doesn’t bother him anymore. In fact, I think she makes him feel safer, now, because she’s a bit more of the barker, watch the door, run here and investigate that sort of dog, so he doesn’t have to do it anymore. So, he’s just been super chill, soft eyes all the time, very cuddly, happy pup. Joy, too, seems very happy lately as well.
These are my thoughts.
Time for sleep.
