One of those days today that just kind of disappeared on me. I’m still kind of out of it from the incredibly long couple of work days. But, glad we got everything done, and very grateful today was quiet.
I’m such a spreadsheet guy. As I’ve been reading these books on wine lately, I’ve been adding any wines that the writers mentioned as being particularly good. Well…I’ve got over 400 of them now, and no real way for me to sort through those and figure out, like, which ones I might want to go and buy in any given moment. So! I’m making a spreadsheet. One that includes all the relevant information I might need to know in order to actually go and grab one of them, things that this wine-searcher app won’t let me sort or search by—like, by grape varietal, or by local shop that has them, price, etc. And easy, too, to read my notes about who mentioned the wine and what they said about it. Massive project, obviously, because it’s over 400 wines, now. Sigh. But…I’m doing it, and really enjoying it. It’s like a little journey through all the books I’ve read, and that’s fun. Crazy to say, but it’s true. Got to fiddle with that a bit today since it was so quiet and I knew I wasn’t going to have the energy or focus to do any writing. That’s the big casualty of the crazy work week: no writing. But thats okay. I’m back at it tomorrow. It’ll get done.
