The Artemis II launched into space today. Liz and I watched it live and it was awesome and…surprisingly intense? Like, disaster kept flashing through our heads—were we about to watch four people die? The answer, thank goodness, was no. It seems as though the launch went pretty perfect. Incredible. And that part is intense, too, thinking about doing something again so monumental as putting people on the moon. Not that this mission is going to land. They won’t. But it’s a big step towards that happening in a few years. And when it does, my god, I will be watching live absolutely glued and probably in tears. It’s the kind of real life stuff that I dream about in my books. The stars. Lands alien and unknown.

Busy day. Surprise! lol. Yes. Another one. It’s been a busy fuuuuucking week. But I am getting my stuff done. Bit by bit.

Liz is outside in the living room right now, playing Animal Crossing and listening to the first Glory book. She’s going to listen to all three of them. I think that’s pretty cool. Those are good books! I’m proud of them.

One of the things I’m catching up on this week is actually reading what I’m writing at the moment and editing it. It’s…surprisingly difficult. I didn’t get the chance to do it for the last Glory book, and every time I open that book to check on something, I see a sentence or line of dialogue or something else that I would have changed or fixed if I’d had the time to do it. Or made the time to do it, really. So, yeah. Making sure with this one that I’m reading it and for whatever reason, resistance is really fighting me on it. But that’s okay. I’ll persevere. It’s an important part of my process. Crucial.

Dug out more of the parking space. Coops continues to get better and better. And oh was it just the most gorgeous day today, my god. April starting off with a bang. It was popcorn white clouds on a blue sky all day, and just barely hit 70. Tiniest breeze. Goddamn perfect. These are my favorite days in LA.

Night night.
