Busy bussssyyyyy day today, in a good way. Good writing. Good work. Good CLEANING. We set up a cleaning schedule for the house, finally, and we’re into week one, baby, which was cleaning the bathrooms. And, like, REALLY cleaning them. Neither were that dirty. We do keep up on that in the regular sense…but not the 2-hour deep cleans. So, we’re on that now. Every three weeks we do the bathrooms. Everything else gets a deep clean on a six-week rotation. It’s definitely going to be a lift I’ll have to get used to…but it will feel very very good to get it done.
Gave the kitties their flea meds. Got some reading done. I finished this incredible bottle of pinot called The Mad King by Lumen, which is a Santa Barbara (adjacent) producer. I coravin’d it first, and that first glass was diabolically good. The best glass, no question. I could literally taste the grape juice, and I don’t mean that in any sort of sweet way, I just mean the quality of the juice was instantly apparent. And then the next couple times I tried a coravin, it wasn’t very good. I was afraid I’d spoiled it. Nope. It just needed to be properly opened, which is what I did a few days ago. And it just kept going and going, both in the glass as I’d sip it, but also in the bottle over the days. That’s my definition of a fine wine, I think: that it will improve/evolve/whatever you want to call it both in the glass and in the bottle on the counter. This one did. It was fantastic. The just released a new vintage of the stuff, I want to get some.
Night night. Gonna go finish Scruton.
