It’s funny how disparate things can converge sometimes throughout a day. A random video on Facebook reminded me today of this tour that Sasha and John Digweed did through the US in the summer of 2002. It was called ‘Delta Heavy’ and I learned about it too late to try and attend, which was also my luck when working for a summer out in New York…and they’d just ended their legendary residence at the Twilo nightclub.
What I didn’t know is that they made a documentary album of that Delta Heavy tour. So cool! I need to find it somewhere. There was a rash of such docs around then. Tiesto made A Day at the Office or something like that. Kalkbrenner did one. I’m sure there were others. But I want to find Delta Heavy. It will be a little time capsule for her.
The convergence came just a moment ago, though, while getting ready for bed. Liz, completely randomly, was playing Heaven Scent which is the song that got me into John Digweed. Not a song she’d normally play, in fact, I don’t know if she ever has, for me at least. But she played it tonight.
Funny. Very cool 🙂
