The book will be done tomorrow.
That would be on time according to my cowriter, which he swung by graciously pushing our release date, but a month late according to my own schedule.
Getting it done any earlier than that, honestly, was going to be impossible. I don’t know how I possibly could have moved any faster and turned out something I was proud of.
And I am proud of this book. It fucking came together, y’all. Whew.
All I have left tomorrow are the very final wrap-up scenes. The ‘denoument’ as my cowriter and the French like to call it.
What a ride these past six months or so have been. I’ll have to go back and look at the record just to see for sure what the timeline really was, because I honestly can’t remember it right now, but I think it was around late April that I realized how much I actually needed to buckle down if I was going to pull off finishing two books by my deadline.
I did it. Barely. But I did it, thank god. TWO BOOKS. First time ever in a single year. And learned a lot, too, on how to do things differently the next time around so I’m not pushing so hard. But it worked.
I did it.
Or…I’m about to. Tomorrow.
Night night.
