It’s an odd place, the interstitial between one project and the next. I mean, technically, I’ve already started the next. That started yesterday, the very next day after finishing the last book. But…the gas pedal is taken off a bit, still. And that’s an odd feeling.

It’s a raw state. I feel emotions, many of them all at once, boiling underneath the surface. They are a multitude, and they each shout at the same time, and therefore not easy to pin down. Pride. Exhaustion. Gratitude. Desire. Fear. It’s all of that.

It’s a fight, too, between wanting to get right back into it, and to want to rest. And there’s no clear winner between those, by the way, because both are necessary.

I read Shakespeare and drank a glass of very good wine. Chateau Giscours. Our Costco had it. I read my friend’s book and set out a very doable schedule I think for finishing it. I took a nap. Did my Netflix work. Had a meeting with our financial advisor. Did therapy. Had some QT with Liz and the pups.

It was a full day.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
