What news on the Rialto?
lol. I don’t know why that line from Merchant is stuck in my head tonight.
So, Joy woke us up three times last night to go and pee. I slept in to make up for it, but I was up for about…three and a half hours? Something like that. Sigh. She was back to normal today, so that’s good. Peppy and happy. Zooming around. Hoping tonight will be a good sleep. Definitely need it. Work’s been biiizzzzyyy. Very very busy. But…getting it done.
It’s so stupid, but another thing that threw me today was the fact that my next Shakespeare play still hadn’t come in. I needed it yesterday. It did come in, but that was mentally distracting.
I forget, it seems, every year just how hard this stretch before and throughout the holidays is for me to get writing work done. So, I made a point this evening to buckle down and really focus on the outlining.
I’ve decided on my opening. What a relief! And I think I’ve decided on a slightly different method of breaking up the narrative. This series has been, from the very first book, broken up by location. A title page with a star system/planet/location denotes a change in locale, and also, usually, a change in POV. It’s how we skip around. This time, I’m thinking about trying something different. We’ll see. But long story short: I decided on some things today. It was a major step forward.
Night night.
